I know essentially nothing about computers (or technology in general), but I recently received several Kaspersky notifications saying “Network attack detected”. There are ten of these notifications in all.
Under the “Network Attack Blocker” page of my Kaspersky software, I can see when each of these notifications occurred – nine of them occurred at the exact same moment in time, while the tenth occurred a few seconds later. They all list the same “attacking computer IP”. Under “result”, they each say, “Not processed: Scan.Generic.PortScan.TCP”, and under “object type”, they each say, “Network packet”.
Can someone explain to me what these terms mean? Is my computer at risk from this? Or should I be okay since Kaspersky noticed it?
